US National Soccer Hall of Fame And Great Goals In 2015

Goal Brian McBride

US National Soccer Hall of Fame and great goals in 2015 go together like bread n butter.

The three new inductees into the US Soccer hall of fame in 2015 will be Kristine Lilly, Brian McBride,

and Coach Bob Bradley. All three set big goals for the soccer careers, but probably not one them ever

dreamed to be in the hall of fame through out all their years of playing and coaching. However setting

goals from year to year is the ear mark for great players and individuals. Kristine said it was to enjoy

and have fun with the game, Brian said it was for his teammates and coach Bob said it was for the

success of the whole team is why they worked so hard for all of those years. Kristine goes into the hall

with over 352 international competition appearances, also called caps, 130 goals scored, two Olympic

Gold Medals and two World Cup Championships. Brian McBride, the Chicago boy from Buffalo Grove IL,

the St. Louis University superstar, after over a 18 year pro career and teams in England, Europe,

and MLS all had the pleasure to see this work horse at his best. 101 International caps and 30 goals for

the US team, 137 goals in the pro’s, MVP awards and Captain of many of the teams he played for,

Brian deserves this award and honor. Coach Bob Bradley, after over 30 years in coaching both college

and pro’s all over the world, and helped the US Mens Soccer team get to higher ground in International

play during the early 2000’s to bring US soccer to the top 16 team in the world. With MLS, Gold Cup

and  US Open Cup championships under his belt, coach Bob has been there for the growth of US

soccer for over 20 years now. Congrads to all and all were very deserving.. Watch some great videos

Best Soccer Drills For Defensive Goalie Success

Best soccer drills for defensive goalie success as we see more and more shut-outs in important

matches. Many coaches say the best offense is a great defense. Even if the offense is having an off

day, if your defense puts up a goose egg against the competition,  your offense should sneak in a goal

or two with PK’s and own goals. Good goalie play is probably the biggest element of successful

shut-outs / clean sheets. Just getting a hand on a good shot and putting it off to the side is one most

practiced skills that could save a shut-out. The defensive angles your back 5 take on pushing the

offense to the outer edges in the defensive third is so important to successful goalie victories.

As a goalie, when in doubt, punch or hit the ball out of play, as regrouping is always safer than making

sure you catch every ball. Watch these MLS gems of shut-outs, as you will see the results of best

soccer drills for defensive goalie success in action. Sometimes your best defender is the goal post.

Faster Soccer Skills For More Goals

Soccer Skills

Faster soccer skills for more goals and balanced dribbling techniques are a one two punch in coaching.

Many coaches look for drills that work on touch of the player in dribbling, trapping, and passing during

game situations. The first touch is so important to control into an area you can make your next move.

Setting the ball up off that first touch can set up a pass or a shot, let alone dribbling into space to

advance the play. Also seeing open team-mates as you receive the ball, gives you a chance to deflect

the ball towards them giving your team-mate a better chance to shoot or settle the ball down for

control. As you get the ball in front of the net, the 6 yard line box is so dangerous for one touch shots

or deflections to your team-mates. Watch as you see these pro’s put the ball into the 6 yard line box

and how many goals are scored with these quick crosses. Another key element you will see in these

videos, is the “never give up attitude” of these pros. You will see faster soccer skills for more goals

as these pros use all these techniques in these links above and MLS videos. [Read more…]

Teaching Offensive Spacing For U9, U11, U13, U15, U17

chicago fire vs montreal impact

Teaching offensive spacing for U9, U11, U13, U15, U17 players and keeping them spread out for

successful winning soccer. As you watch successful teams, you will see clubs playing to the touch

lines, and crossing the ball into dangerous spaces knowing that many of these chances will be cleared

out by the defense. However, the good clubs will keep players 10 to 20 yards away from the first service

into the offensive wave, only to pick up these deflections and turn the second chance into a shot on goal

or another chip into a new dangerous chance. Most coaches remind midfielders not always to follow

every chip towards the goal, knowing many will be headed back. Don’t get sucked into every offensive

chip, the spacing of the players gives a better chance for multiple strikes at goal. Side volleys off of

defensive mistakes happen alot when there is good spacing on the offensive team. Play until you hear

the whistle, do not slow up your play, your spacing may lead to another goal when the defense slows

up. Watch these pro’s and see the goal results of teaching offensive spacing for U9, U11, U13, U15, U17 players. [Read more…]

Best Soccer Drills For Ball Control And Looking Around

Best soccer drills for ball control and looking around when seeing the field. Dribbling

and knowing where your defenders are as you control the ball is an important skill to

master every year you play. Being able to dribble with speed and look behind yourself

is crucial for attacking play and putting pressure on defenders. Using quick 30 second

mini drills and moving from skill to skill is vital in working on speed of the game. As the

dribbling gets the ball into dangerous area’s, the passing will set up the shooting. Fast paced

short crosses in the 6 yard line area in front of the goal can produce goal chances for offenders.

Along with practice on volley shots and taking long shots on goal keeping the ball on frame

produces danger on the defense. Check out these best soccer drills for ball control and looking

around as you see in these MLS matches great results. Best Soccer Drills In The Links Above, To Your Success ! [Read more…]

Teaching U11,U12,U13,U14,U15 How To Be A Patient Offensive Striker

chicago fire vs sporting kc

Teaching U11,U12,U13,U14,U15 how to be a patient offensive striker, this is the old saying

from years of coaches, “take what the defense gives you!” Sometimes easier said than done,

but is so true if you just slow down a half of a second and pick your head up in the attacking third.

From Mike McGee of the Fire to Kenny Miller of the Whitecaps to Graham Zusi of Sporting KC,

watch how they slow down the ball, pick the head head up and make the play look easy. It takes time

to master, but the time is there, don’t hurry your shot, you’ve got more time than you think. Cutting

the ball back to your other foot puts the defenders on their heels for that split second. Practice your cut

backs everyday and you will master the art of getting that one more second you need to place your

strike. Watch how practicing and teaching U11,U12,U13,U14,U15 how to be a patient offensive striker in MLS action below. [Read more…]

Seattle Sounders vs Real Salt Lake

Good Start For Real Salt Lake And Houston Dynamo Early 2013

Both RSL and Dynamo of Houston are in the top 3 of their division after the first month

of action in the MLS. Houston coming off a solid win over the Chicago Fire, stay on pace in

the second place in the East division. Bruin of the Dynamo started off with a nifty goal before

Chicago’s Rolfe equaled that with a nice tuck away. In the 80th minute, Houston’s Davis put the

match away taking 3 points from the Fire. Seattle Sounder Goalie Michael Gspurning kept it close

against the red hot RSL squad. Real Salt Lake started the scoring in the 8th minute with tough play

by Findley, keeping his momentum moving towards a quick goal for RSL. Gil put away a goal in the 34th

minute putting RSL up 2-0 and it took til the 56th minute when Evans got the Sounders on the board.

The match ended back and forth with RSL taking away 3 points from Seattle. [Read more…]

FC Dallas And Sporting KC Stay Hot in MLS

FC Dallas vs Houston

FC Dallas And Sporting KC Stay Hot in MLS, bring home big wins to stay in the hunt. Less than 5

minutes into a match, Claudio Bieler put one in the back of the net to put Sporting KC up over Montreal

Impact. Then finally in the 79 minute Graham Zusi put the game away with a beautiful solo goal putting

SKC up 2-0 and another win for them. KC’s Goal Keeper Nielsen and the defense put up a clean sheet

and another shut-out. Exciting match in Texas, with FC Dallas and Houston Dynamo going head to

head, for state bragging rights. Dallas jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but the orange would not go away,

by the 82 minute mark Houston tie it up and had the momentum. Seven minutes later Kenny Cooper

puts away the game winner with a ball that looks like a hand ball, BUT no ref saw it and FC pulls out

a 3-2 victory and 3 points for the match. [Read more…]

Montreal Impact And Vancouver Whitecaps Start MLS 2013 Undefeated

Montreal MLS Toronto

Montreal Impact And Vancouver Whitecaps Start MLS 2013 undefeated.

O’ Canada, the MLS is changing power teams?  Not really, good start for these two upstart teams,

however two games into the regular season is way too early to say these two Canadian based teams

will compete for the MLS cup. Montreal starts off in the first 30 minutes with a nice bicycle shot n goal,

and with two goals in hand by the 60 minute mark, Portland could not seem to mount a real come back.

Vancouver Whitecaps also start off 2-0 undefeated in 2013, with a 2-1 victory over the Columbus Crew.

The Whitecaps put unbelievable pressure on all game. In the first five minutes Daigo Kobayashi hit a 30

yard strike for a long range goal to start off the match right. Kenny Miller finishes the game with a cool

strike to put it away. Hopefully these two teams can keep it up, we will see in late July when playoffs start our discussion. [Read more…]
