US Women’s Soccer Team Built-In Excellence

WC Winners US Soccer Team 1999   US women’s soccer team built-in excellence and over 30 years in the making.

Many talk about how well the 2015 World Championship US team played this year

in Canada, however in 1985 it all started with a shoe string budget and a huge dream.

In August 1985 Coach Mike Ryan took the US women’s team to their

first international match, in 1991 the US entered the first ever women’s world cup event in China. The

US won their group stage and eventually made it to the final four. These final teams

have been some of the strongest women’s programs for over 24 years, Germany, Norway, Sweden and

the USA have been strong for most of these last three decades. Japan, China, France and Brazil now

have up and coming talent to challenge for top billing in the women’s game, but the US have won the

most, and have always been the biggest threat. Coaches like Anson Dorrance, Tony Dicicco, Lauren

Gregg, April Heinrichs, Greg Ryan, Pia Sundhage, and now Jill Ellis with Tom Sermanni stepping

in one year to help out Jill Ellis. These coaches and their assistants / trainers put this US team from

almost nothing to the well oiled success machine in the world of women’s football today. Many great

players laid the foundation for what we have today in the US success, Carin Jennings and April

Heinrichs were two of the first success stories. Then came Mia Hamm, Julie Foudy, Kristine Lilly,

Joy Fawcett and maybe the strongest defender the US has ever had Michelle Akers. Akers would

mark the best players from any opposing team and crush their will to be affective, all while she battled

chronic fatigue syndrome. Even though Michelle was one of our toughest warriors and Hamm, Foudy,

Lilly, and Fawcett always found a way to get a goal. Defender Carla Overbeck and Goalie Briana Scurry

really took this team into the late 90’s getting ready for the 96 Olympics in Atlanta and the 1999 US

hosted World Cup. The US won the gold medal in 1996 but NBC did not air the match or even cutting

away for a five-minute peek into the ladies winning the gold. This bad decision was corrected in 1999

when the US hosted the world cup and the largest stadiums were booked by Fifa to play these

matches. Every one of the games was a sell out. ABC got it right, when we all witnessed the China

USA match go to pk’s. Every US player nailed theirs, and Briana Scurry stopped the 3rd Chinese

players shot, setting the stage for Brandi Chastain’s ice water in the veins shot that sent the US

into a victorious ROAR. And oh, btw, she took her jersey off in the celebration showing her sports bra,

you’ll see more shin on any given beach these days, but some people had to make it an indictment,

listen you win a world championship and let’s see you react after 17 yrs of hard work and practice /

training. Listen, practice your pk’s,  look at the ball, take a big breath before you start your approach

to the ball, get your heart rate down, then attack it and put it on frame to a corner with pace, don’t

over kick it, you have the advantage, use it , practice it. Overbeck, Fawcett, Lilly, Hamm, and Chastain

all showed you how to take a pk, learn it, win it.

The 1999 Rose Bowl final was the largest watch US women’s sporting event ever watched. It’s great

watching these great plays over and over. Look for a defensive save Kristen Lilly made vs China in

1999 using her head just like Klingenberg did this year vs Sweden.

Watch this great video below about the US women’s soccer team built-in excellence and remember where we came from.

OMC Oh My Carli, TEAM USA World Cup Champs

Super Carli Lloyd US World Champion  OMC Oh My Carli, TEAM USA World Cup Champs!!!

Carli Lloyd has put herself and team USA into the record books.

Amazing performance from ALL US women’s team members and coaching

staff to pull this one off. With all the pressure of knowing we as good as we are, and playing in our back

yard of Canada for most of the US to attend if they wished, this couldn’t have gone any sweeter.

Wambach’s last match played for the US and probably Christie Rampone’s last match however both

women seem to be able to play into their sixties if they wish. What a send off for the veterans of the

squad and a huge step up for any women wanting to join this amazing bunch of athletes. This defense

is one of the strongest in any World stage competition, men or women, only one goal given up by this

whole team going into the final. Not just how good Hope Solo (goal keeper) played, but the front four of

the defense and the subs that came in. Look for underlined names with mp3 interview links during

World Cup 2015 from US players below, done by Men in Blazers. Awesome showing by Becky

Sauerbrunn, Julie Johnston, Meghan Klingenberg, Ali Krieger, Kelley O’Hara, Heather O’Reilly,

Lori Chalupny, and the midfield who dropped back so much to help. This team got better every match,

and rolled with the punches. Wonderful patterns of play produced by Christen Press, Tobin Heath,

Lauren Holiday, Morgan Brian, Amy Rodriguez and Shannon Boxx. Sydney Leroux saw sometime

but it was Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe who put the pressure on the opposing defenses and

opened up lanes for Carli Lloyd to work her magic. Rapinoe and Morgan really took alot of the

concentration of the opponents. Lloyd was on a mission!  And no one could stop this dynamo…

Setting world cup records with the only hat trick in the final match, the time it took to achieve it,

16 minutes total from one to third goal,  received both the Silver Boot and Golden Ball award for

this world cup tournament. Having 6 goals and assisting on three others, Lloyd was the force to put

the US into the history books. Three time world cup winners, the US has the toughest team in the World!!!

If you are a U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, or U15 player,  go out and see these women play, they

have a great league at http://www.nwslsoccer.com . Once again congratulations Coach Jill Ellis,

Hope Solo gets the Golden Glove Award,

and OMC Oh My Carli, TEAM USA World Cup Champs!

Carli Lloyd for President….

Shout out to Unbelievable Super Subs Teammates of the World Champ’s Whitney Engen, Ashlyn Harris, and Alyssa Naeher

YOU ALL WON THIS FOR US…..

Oh, BTW, FIFA, NO More Artificial Turf !!!!!

U9,U10,U11,U12,U13 Girls Watching World Cup Team USA

USA Womens Team WC 2015

U9,U10,U11,U12,U13 girls watching world cup team USA taking

care of business verses Australia 3-1, Sweden 0-0, and Nigeria 1-0, with two US

wins and only one tie, winning the grp D “group of death”.  Now the US is up against

the up and coming Colombian team who beat France, the third ranked women’s team in the world

and with one win, one tie, one loss, they made it through to the next round on June 22nd meeting

team USA. The US squad is very defensively solid. Hope Solo and the defensive four in the back have

only given up one goal in 3 matches and shutting out two tough teams in Nigeria and Sweden.

The USA old coach Pia Sundhage is now coaching Sweden and gets the highly favored Germans on

June 20th. Our US coach today is Jill Ellis who many think is doing a great job modeling this new

squad with the solid veterans team USA is fielding. Offensive is alittle shaky still,  Alex Morgan is

just know coming back from a tough injury and Abby Wambach is trying to work with the new

midfielders and support strikers. Megan Rapinoe saved the day in the first match with two goals

and Christen Press add one to put USA up 3-1 on Australia, and Hope Solo had many amazing saves.

Sweden match was all defense, the midfield and forwards for team USA could not put anything together,

but atleast defense saved the point. In the Nigeria match, PLEASE COACH ELLIS,

STOP WITH THE SHORT CORNER KICK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have Wambach, Press, Rapinoe, Sauerbrunn, Johnston, Holiday, AND LLOYD !!!!!!!!

Put the ball on goal between the 12 yd and six yard marker and let them take it out of the air….

We all screamed at the TV during the Nigeria match, someone in Canada heard us,

next play Wambach scores……   GOALLLLLLLLL…. What a concept. PUT THE BALL ON GOAL

The short corner kick play works .000001% of the time, it puts everyone out of sync

and CREATES NO DANGER. On the flip side, a ball put 6 to 15 yrds from goal, has a 6% scoring finish….

Pull up 100 corner kicks taken by our US women’s team,  6 GOALS over 100 tries, do the math.

PLEASE, stop the short corner!!!! USE OUR HEIGHT Advantage….

The U9,U10,U11,U12,U13 girls watching world cup team USA want to see their team

bring home the CUP.  Go USA

FIFA Scandal 2015 And The Women’s World Cup

US Womens Defender Players

FIFA scandal 2015 and the women’s world cup starts June 6th in Canada.

What a week, Wed May 27th only two days before the FIFA organization

votes for a new president, six people were picked up at the FIFA hotel by

Swiss police on behalf of the US Attorney General’s office and the FBI. Update at end of this article..

Later 10 others were nabbed across the world to make it 16 in total that were arrested for corruption with

bribery charges. On Friday May 28th Sepp Blatter was again voted in as the president of FIFA for the

fifth term. Can you imagine? Russia has a world cup coming up in 2018, now is that in the balance?

Is there proof of any wrong doing on how they landed that event? How about Qatar, people dying in

building the stadiums, and the event moved to the Nov 2022 for high summer heat and religious

reasons given. Sepp Blatter is in the hot seat right now, soon more people will fall in the FIFA scandal

as more turn on the others who took more than $110 to $160 million in kick backs from what Loretta

Lynch US Attorney General and FBI James Comey have released to date. The real question is how

does this affect the Women’s World Cup kicking off June 6th in Canada? Will the highly favored US

squad finish with the cup after losing to Japan in 2011 on penalty kicks? The US team looks very

focused as Abby Wambach many be playing her final matches for the red, white, and blue kits after

an amazing career and record breaking achievements. The squad for Canada WC 15 looks like Shannon

Boxx, Morgan Brian, Lori Chalupny, Whitney Engen, Ashlyn Haris, Tobin Heath, Lauren Holiday, Julie

Johnston, Meghan Klingenberg, Ali Krieger, Sydney Leroux, Carli Lloyd, Alex Morgan, Alyssa Naeher,

Kelley O’Hara, Heather O’Reilly, Christen Press, Christie Rampone, Megan Rapinoe, Amy Rodriguez,

Becky Saurbrunn, Hope Solo, and All World Abby Wambach. Coach Jill Ellis has a high powered

offense with Wambach and Leroux while Alex Morgan hopfully recovers from an injury. The defense

looks strong with Solo, Saurbrunn, Klingenberg, Johnston, Krieger, O’Hara, and stronghold master

Rampone. Midfield is scrappy and quick with amazing over lapping runs from Rapinoe, Lloyd, Press,

Heath, Holiday, Engen, Brian, and Boxx all these players are all over the pitch.

Hopefully the FIFA scandal 2015 and the women’s world cup doesn’t mess up the US team from

playing June 8th in Canada, because we have a huge chance to bring home the hardware…..

GOOD Luck Ladies, can’t wait to celebrate with you… Great videos below

Chelsea Win English Premier League 2014-15

sergio kun aguero

Chelsea win English Premier League 2014-15 and Sergio Kun Aguero of  last years champs

Manchester City hauls in the Barclays Golden Boot award. Kun Aguero tried hard to keep Man City

close to the high power Blue team from Chelsea, but even his 26 goals this season couldn’t keep the

light blue Etihad Airlines wearing squad up to Mourinho’s pace. Chelsea had control of this table

almost for three quarters of this 2014-2015 season. Even though the Chelsea faithful called the manger

out for the “Not Sexy Football” style of play, the defensive / ball control minded Jose Mourinho brought

the Blues another title making that Five since 1954. Mourinho wins everywhere he goes, as unsexy as

it is, it’s still winning football and hopefully the fans of Chelsea see the end result of focused effort of a

52 year old genius placed with a well matched club of winning players. John Terry, one of the three top

defenders in the EPL again keep the opponents at bay as Eden Hazard (midfielder) played a huge part

in keeping in some of the biggest matches of 2015. Mourinho’s defensive minded squad would lull you

asleep and Hazard and Diego Costa would strike thru tucking away the goals to get those 3 points to

move on. Man City and Arsenal pushed Chelsea for most the season and even Manchester City showed

some promise to challenge the Blue squad, but even with some injuries Chelsea, the other squads

inconsistencies left the Red and Light Blue in the top 4. Individual success this year finds a new

Tottenham Hotspur hero in the form of one Harry Kane. The new young striker put in 21 goals this

year just one more than Diego Costa of Chelsea, who was out for five matches this season only to

come back in the last two matches to finish the season strong. South Hampton, Swansea City, and

Stoke City all had a decent year this 2015, making it up to the top 9 of the table, looking to improve

more next year and challenge in 2016. A warm good-bye to Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard and

equal legend Frank Lampard(West Ham, Swansea, Chelsea, Man City) both a goals in their last

matches as they walk away from EPL to head over the pond to the MLS and help Americans see two

of England’s greats up close in NY and LA. Hull City, Burnley, and Queen Park Rangers struggled at

the end of the 2015 season and will hit relegation to the second league as Aston Villa and Sunderland

breathe a sye of relief, another off season to get better. New Castle made it interesting towards the end,

only to get enough goals to keep the black n white in the premier league, hopefully John Carver

can regroup the squad over the break. Chelsea win English Premier League 2014-15, and next year

looks like a tough team to beat, but EPL changes every year.  Enjoy the winners of 2014-2015

The Best Top 10 International Goal Scorers

josef pipi bican

The best top 10 international goal scorers and some great video

footage of just a few of their massive amount of goals scored

in international play. This black and white photo is of the greatest,

Josef “Pipi” Bican, back in the 1930’s he was the Pele/Messi

of football. Great goal scorers know, no matter how the ball gets

in the back of the net or how fast it gets there, it’s still worth only one point, not two points for being really fast or really fancy, just one point.

Efficiency, angle, and touch are the three things that a goal scorer thinks about. The ball only has to

travel completely over the line not have to rip the net from the goal posts. That’s the difference between

a goal scorer and a flash in the pan fad player who scores one goal and misses 100 others.

Consistency and awareness of the moment is the difference between these two players and the

realization most of the time it’s just passing the ball to the back of the net, a quick flick of the

foot to play keep away in a six yard area. It doesn’t have to be fancy to win a game, funny thing

about it, the simpler the harder it is to do in the heat of a split second, that’s the difference between great goal scorer and just another miss.

Here are the Top 10 International Goal Scorers In History:

#10.  James McGrory Celtic Striker from 1920 to 1930’s scored 550 goals

#9.  Eusebio  from Portugal from the 1950’s to 1980 scored over 552 goals

#8.  Ernest Willimowski scored 4 goals in one World Cup match and from 1930 to 1950’s scored 554 times

#7.  Uwe Seeler scored in 4 Fifa final matches and from 1940 to 1960’s scored 575 goals

#6.  Ferenc Deak this Hungarian striker played from 1940’s to 1950’s and bagged over 576 goals

#5.  Gerd Muller the German striker with over 735 goals from 1960’s to the 1980’s

#4.  Ferenc Puskas this Hungarian was playing with Deak and from the 40’s to 60’s scored 746 times

#3.  PELE, maybe the greatest, this Brazilian played from 1950’s to mid 1977 scoring over 767 goals

#2.  Romario another Brazilian, at 772 goals from 1980 to 2010 this quite thunder was always there to score

#1.  Josef “Pipi” Bican, this Austrian-Czech was footballs greatest goal scorer, at over 805 goals

spanning a career from the 1920’s to the 1950’s, this striker was that era’s Pele, Messi, Ronaldo, Maradona, and Binder all rolled up into one super striker. Wiki says he had over 1468 goals with a 1.59 ratio of goals to matches, making him the best ever.

Please enjoy the video below and the best top 10 international goal scorers list above.

orlando city fc

Start of MLS 2015 and goal highlights excite the fans after a close call with the start of the new season.

The players union and the owners were up to the 11th hour before finally signing the new CBA so play

could start on March 6th. The 2014 Champs LA Galaxy took on the rebuilding Chicago Fire to start the

new season without the retired Landon Donavon. Again Robbie Keane leads the Galaxy and the new

look returning champs. Two new clubs join the MLS, welcome Orlando City FC and New York City FC.

Great first match in front of over 62,000 in the Orange Bowl in Florida March 7th. Back n forth contest,

watching Kaka the Brazilian, Real Madrid, Milan transfer to the purple of Orlando City, along with Brek

Shea playing attacking left wing defender. Mix Diskerud runs the midfield of New York City FC and

started off the season with a well placed angled shot to put the light blue up 1-0 in the 76th minute,

only to have Kaka saved the day for the home team in added time with a deflected goal to split the

points on the first match. Jozy Altidore joins Michael Bradley in Toronto FC to make the big red team

in the north one to watch this MLS and possible final four team this year. Seattle Sounders look very

10 Fastest Hat-Tricks And Men In Blazers Highlights

Davo and Rog

10 fastest hat-tricks and Men in Blazers highlights what a way to put a smile on your face in February.

Shake those winter blues with 10 players who would not be denied on the mission of scoring goals

quickly. Of these top 10 records most were scored between 3 to 7 minutes of time which is amazing

in and by itself. However, two stories of this feat stand out, in 2004, playing for Bournemouth,

James Hayter scored 3 goals in only 140 seconds of time in a division two match with Wexham.

Hayter was celebrating his new son being born just days before the match and turn into a

record-breaking day. Then a second story came out in 2013 about a Sheffield Sunday player,

Alex Torr, got his hat trick in just 70 seconds of game time play, which seems unimaginable but

others have confirmed it. Also a 17 year old in 2012 scored 3 in under 3 minutes in a Finnish Premier

League match and that feat went to wonderkid Joel Pohjanpalo. Recently in the English Premier

League, Sadio Mane from Southhampton FC vs Ashton Villa in May of 2015, he knocked in 3 within

2 minutes 56 seconds. Some videos are below and the other

7 names and player can be found on Bleacher Report article link here. Men in Blazers continues to

rip up the football world with hilarious insights to EPL matches and fantastic awards of great American

footballers, with the recent award of the Golden Blazer to the great Julie Foudy. After an amazing hall

of fame career, US All Star, World Cup Winner, Olympic Gold Winner, amazing announcer on ABC and

ESPN amongst others gigs for US soccer, just a class above the rest. After following in the foot steps

of the great Bob Ley as the 2014 Golden Blazer winner last year from Rog and Davo, Foudy will surely

carry that torch in 2015. Congrads Julie, you deserve that great honor.

US National Soccer Hall of Fame And Great Goals In 2015

Goal Brian McBride

US National Soccer Hall of Fame and great goals in 2015 go together like bread n butter.

The three new inductees into the US Soccer hall of fame in 2015 will be Kristine Lilly, Brian McBride,

and Coach Bob Bradley. All three set big goals for the soccer careers, but probably not one them ever

dreamed to be in the hall of fame through out all their years of playing and coaching. However setting

goals from year to year is the ear mark for great players and individuals. Kristine said it was to enjoy

and have fun with the game, Brian said it was for his teammates and coach Bob said it was for the

success of the whole team is why they worked so hard for all of those years. Kristine goes into the hall

with over 352 international competition appearances, also called caps, 130 goals scored, two Olympic

Gold Medals and two World Cup Championships. Brian McBride, the Chicago boy from Buffalo Grove IL,

the St. Louis University superstar, after over a 18 year pro career and teams in England, Europe,

and MLS all had the pleasure to see this work horse at his best. 101 International caps and 30 goals for

the US team, 137 goals in the pro’s, MVP awards and Captain of many of the teams he played for,

Brian deserves this award and honor. Coach Bob Bradley, after over 30 years in coaching both college

and pro’s all over the world, and helped the US Mens Soccer team get to higher ground in International

play during the early 2000’s to bring US soccer to the top 16 team in the world. With MLS, Gold Cup

and  US Open Cup championships under his belt, coach Bob has been there for the growth of US

soccer for over 20 years now. Congrads to all and all were very deserving.. Watch some great videos

Fast Skills And Best Drills U10,U11,U12,U13,U14

messi cuts by defenders

Fast skills and best drills U10,U11,U12,U13,U14 helps the youth players build a foundation of

simple skills to use in game play. Setting up your base moves and working on your footwork is

something you can do everyday by yourself. Learning to move the ball back n forth and side to side

is the base moves needed to learn as you get more feel and touch for the ball. Small touches and

movements can make all the difference when trying to keep defenders on their heels and guessing

where you are going. Learn to touch the ball side to side and use a pull back move the get the

defenders leaning the wrong way. Turn your back to the defender and shield the ball to buy

some time for other player support to gather, but many times you may just have to move the

away from pressure and move into a clear space as you buy time to regroup. Cutting the ball

hard and using the outside part of your foot is always a great skill to master, as you always need

to learn how to keep the head up to view the field. Another tip is the always move towards a ball played

to you, if you wait for a ball to get to you, 70% of the time a defender will pick it off, and just moving

to the ball cuts off that half of a second of a defender making that play. Watch these videos for some

fast skills and best drills U10,U11,U12,U13,U14
