Youth Soccer Players Watch MLS Cup

Youth soccer players watch MLS Cup looking for hopes and dreams to be a pro player someday.

Both MLS players Gyasi Zardes of the LA Galaxy and Chris Tierney of the New England Rev’s, watched

as young players hoping to play in this big of a match someday, and that day was now Dec 7th. Both

teams ready after highly contested playoff matches with slight edge in goals scored to make 2014

MLS Cup one to remember. Robbie Keane becomes the Galaxy savior with an extra time strike that

put the StubHub center into a fevered pitch, then to hoist the cup for the fifth time after a 2-1 Galaxy win.

Robbie Rogers had a great shot under two minutes into the match but the Rev’s cleaned up an early

mistake to keep it 0-0 into the 52nd minute mark. Then Zardes took a great cross into the six yard

line box area and tucked away a beautiful shot to put the Galaxy up and Landon Donovan only 68

minutes away another Cup trophy. However the Rev’s were not out of it, many great chances and

alot of pressure on LA ‘s goalie Jaime Penedo, finally Chris Tierney broke the shut out with an amazing

touch to send the Rev fans into great relief tied at 1-1, 78th minute. Many more chances both sides for

the next 12 minutes, Lee Nguyen gets so bad leg cramps has to go off, Jermaine Jones probably

couldn’t play much better, and Patrick Mullins all had a great match for the Rev’s but it wasn’t enough

to stop Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane from completing their magical year of playing the come

back kids. Keane’s strike in the 111th minute showed why consider him the most dangerous big

game scorer in the MLS for the last 4 years. Rev’s played great, Bobby Shuttleworth the Rev’s keeper

played amazing, it just seemed like the LA Galaxy quest to send off Donovan with an amazing finish

to a great career was the energy needed by the TEAM to win it all. Good luck Landon Donovan in your

next adventure, your team gave you a proper send off, no than the US Men’s team did. For any youth

soccer players watching MLS Cup, watch Dovovan, he is a class act and good role model.

Thanks Landon Donovan For Being A Class Act

Thanks Landon Donovan for being a class act, after over 15 years of playing under the US mens team

and many other professional clubs across the world, our very own California kid has given his best

for team USA.  Even though a “coach” (?) does not think you gave us your all, many of us know you

did, and we have a big appreciation for what you’ve done for US Soccer and the MLS. Being a class

act and sharing with many of the youth here in the US has really shown your heart for taking the

high road when you out shine other smaller petty thinking ego’s. Too bad the current coach of

US soccer can’t remember all the hours of hard work you put in building something he gets the

benefit from, and all those kids who now are playing a higher level of football here in the states

because you gave so much to us. Thank You Landon, we here at TheSoccerInfo want you to know,

we think the world of you and thank you for all those years, knowing you will be involved helping

others here in America to better their game because of YOU….

We will be watching you close out your MLS career with another Cup victory, just saying……

Setting Up Other Players And Space Awareness

usa donovan mens soccer

Setting up other players and space awareness is one of the best characteristics Team USA shows both

on the Mens and Women’s squad. After both US teams have beaten Mexico this month, each of them

showed how to use all the players strengths to get the victories need to advance. In the case of the

men’s team, this 2-0 victory gave them a birth in the 2014 World Cup hosted by Brazil. The women’s

victory was a show of their international dominance and how unselfish their play is involving all members

of their squad. Case in point, watch how Abby Wambach sets up a fellow teammate for a strike on goal

because Abby’s position took her away from a good shot. Which brings up a good rule for all players,

the best player for a shot is usually some one behind you, so having good space awareness and

communication, a better shot can be set up. Many coaches call this a back set or leaving the ball as it

runs through the defense. Also watch Clint Dempsey slighty touch a ball that Landon Donovan puts

away. Sydney Leroux proves the old adage, never give up on a run to goal, you never know when you

will be rewarded with an easy tap in goal, which always counts in the stat book. Four goals in

40 minutes of play, Leroux made Mexico look like they were standing still. Remember, lay it back to

your closest teammate, many times they will have the best crack at putting a quality shot on goal.

Head the ball down like Eddie Johnson does on the first goal against team Mexico, these are little tips

that go a long way in winning soccer. Watch these video’s looking for setting up other players and

space awareness while getting that victory for your squad. Also, look for a young Landon Donovan in 2004 match. [Read more…]

Offensive Soccer Tips In The Attacking Third

Clint Dempsey Seattle Sounders

Offensive soccer tips in the attacking third and putting pressure on the defense is what every coach

hunts for as they watch game film. With Clint Dempsey and Landon Donovan roaming the MLS, there

is no shortage of great offensive soccer brewing here in the states. Some key tips to watch for in these

MLS game film clips are watching for simple basic shots not being over powering however the shots are

kept on frame so they have a chance to score. Deflections happen, direct free kicks are stroked not over

shot, and head balls are directed downward to keep the angle tougher for the goal keeper. When

chipping the balls from the wings, shoot to keep the ball between the 6yd line and the 14yd pk spot,

that’s a deadly zone for head ball goals with power. Watch these MLS pro’s and get your own offensive

soccer tips in the attacking third. See Landon Donovan put on a clinic with a hat trick of his own. [Read more…]

LA Galaxy 2012 MLS Champions For The 4th Time

LA Galaxy 2012 MLS Champions for the 4th time, beating the Houston Dynamo 3-1 on Dec. 1st.

David Beckham gets to go out a Champion as this was his last game for the Galaxy. Talk is brewing

about Landon Donovan may move on and play elsewhere next year, some say. However after going

down 1-0 in the 44th minute to Calen Carr’s goal just before half time, the LA Galaxy flexed their

championship metal and put 3 goals together in the second half. Omar Gonzalez got a header in the

60th minute to tie the match and bring the momentum back to LA, and opened up the press the Galaxy

kept up on the Dynamo. Donovan got a penalty kick at the 65th minute, and Robbie Keane got a PK at

the 94th minute to close out the match. The Galaxy had the 7th to 8th best record in the MLS in 2012,

but once again, if you can get into the playoffs, you can win it ALL.

With Four Championship Cups, LA Galaxy are Kings another year. [Read more…]

Landon Donovan And Robbie Keane Take Down Chivas USA

Landon Dovovan two plus one goal from Robbie Keane means doom for Chivas USA. In a cross town

classic match, the Super Clasico goes to the LA Galaxy moving them into the middle of the Western

Conference race. Donovan must of hit the post 3 times in this game, making the score only 3 to 1, it

could have been 5 to 1 easily. Good though passes from Beckham, and a goal from his bending

right swerving strike corner kick, great match to watch. [Read more…]
